QRG Enterprises, the parent company of the $1 billion global
electricals major, Havells India Ltd, has acquired a majority stake of 70 per
cent in Central Hospital and Research Centre (CHRC) at Rs 30 crore. Based at
Faridabad, it is a 140-bed super-speciality hospital offering speciality care
in neurosurgery, plastic surgery and knee-joint replacement surgery.
Commenting on this move, Sanjeev Gupta, Head of Operations, CHRC, said, "We
are well-equipped to cater to the growing demand for quality healthcare facilities
in and around the Delhi and NCR region. With QRG Group coming on board, we are
all set to create new benchmarks. It's a turning point for us and we look forward
to emerging as a leading player in the healthcare business."
Reflecting on the development, Qimat Rai Gupta, CMD, QRG Enterprises, said,
"A country of a billion plus population presents an enormous need for quality
healthcare facilities. Healthcare access and delivery are still out of the reach
of many due to dearth of the required infrastructure. The acquisition of the
Central Hospital is a small step and an earnest endeavour towards creating and
providing world-class healthcare facilities."
This move is significant as it sets the electrical giant's foray in healthcare.
It further plans to invest around Rs 21 crore in the Hospital.
