Another Multi-speciality Hospital in Mumbai

A 150-bed multi-speciality hospital, Kohinoor City Hospital, is coming up at Kohinoor township, located at Kurla-Vidyavihar section of Mumbai. This Hospital, set up by Kohinoor Hospitals Trust, is spread over an area of approximately two lakh square feet and would have a ground plus five-storey building.

The Hospital would be commissioned by the end of 2009. The first phase of the Rs-750-million project having 100 beds would be commissioned by 2009. The second phase with 50 beds would be operational subsequently. The project is funded by trust and syndication.

The Hospital would have round-the-clock emergency, radiology and imaging, pathology, diagnostics, dialysis, pharmacy and blood bank. The thrust would be on orthopaedics, nephrology, gastroenterology, neurosciences, urology, advanced diagnostics and critical care. Emphasis would also be laid on daycare services and life style management, speciality clinics for diabetes, obesity, infertility management and genetics (IVF), ante-natal, mother and childcare, pain management, nutrition and dietetics etc.

Says Unmesh Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, Kohinoor Group, "All these services would be provided with minimum frills and 'value for money' in the community setting," adding, "After education, hospitality, power and real estate, we are now diversifying into healthcare as one more social cause along with education."

Says Shailesh Dalvie, Advisory Consultant, Kohinoor Healthcare Services, "Around 450 staff would work for the Hospital. Services such as F&B, laundry, security, house-keeping may be outsourced." Hosmac India Pvt Limited, Mumbai has conducted the project feasibility study and DSA Associates, Mumbai is the project management company.
