Metropolis & Panacea Biotec launch Pan Metro Card

Metropolis Health Services (I) Ltd, in association with Panacea Biotec, one of India's leading companies in nephrology and kidney transplantation, recently launched 'Pan Metro Card'. The family card will be available to patients associated with Panacea Biotec in Delhi and Mumbai initially, and offers up to 25 per cent discount on renal diagnostic tests.

The launch of the Pan Metro Card was done at the Indian Society of Nephrology Conference 2007 in Delhi. Around 800 nephrologists graced the occasion. Said Sunil K Bajaj, Vice President, Panacea Biotec, "We expect at least 2,000 of our patients to benefit from this on an immediate basis. We vision this to eventually extend to more than 10,000 patients in the coming six years."

Dr GSK Velu, Managing Director, Metropolis Health Services said the alliance was of strategic significance to Metropolis' growing credibility in the healthcare circles. "The association is a reinstatement of the quality, trust and efficiency Metropolis commands in our sphere. Patients afflicted with renal diseases/disorders have to regularly undergo numerous tests; and at least once a week or fortnight for patients undergoing renal dialysis. The costs of the tests range between Rs 400 to Rs 10,000. With the card, a patient can avail up to 25 per cent discount on renal diagnostic tests. Also creatinine test (detects kidney disorder) will be available free of charge for the card holders," said Dr Velu.

Metropolis has grown to being an over Rs 140-crore chain from Rs 9 crore in 2001-02. "Metropolis has continuously evolved itself to meet the growing needs of the industry and at the same time keeping in mind at every step the convenience and comfort of the end consumer," added Dr Velu. It has the capability to carry out over 3,600 routine, specialised and highly specialised investigations with over 100 technologies including biochip and DNA sequencing and is the organisation which offers pathology and radiology as a composite unit under one roof.
