61st IRIA to Kick-start in Bangalore
The
garden city Bangalore is gearing up to host one of the most talked-about event
of the year Indian Radiological and Imaging Association or IRIA as it
is popularly known.
Grand will have a new definition after the IRIA. The king of all events for
radiologists, IRIA is witnessing mass applications in thousands and the organising
committee under the chairmanship of Dr H Satishchandra is leaving no stone unturned
to make it bigger, better and grander than ever.
Indian Radiological Association was founded in the year 1931. Over the past
70-odd years, it has grown from strength to strength and today it has around
10,000 members. The ever expanding and continuous technology explosion in the
field of imaging and interventional radiology is keeping radiology in the forefrontmaking
it the most sought-after specialty. IRIA intends to keep pace with this fast-paced
technology and makes it as the best platform in India to network and update
about the latest in this field
The Programmes
The topics for pre-conference workshop on 16th of January are fetal medicine,
infant hip, MSK USG focus on foot, ankle, wrist and digits, cardiac CT and MRI
of knee and shoulder joint. On 17th of January, the key topics pre-lunch are
Onco-imaging, Fusion Imaging - The Future of Radiology, MDCT of Hand & Wrist,
Role of USG and Doppler in MSK-infections in correlation with MRI, MDCT of Liver
Metastases, clinical relevance of MDCT of Pancreatic Malignancy. The post lunch
session starts with Ultrasound Symposium and follows with ICRI general body
meeting, inaugural function of IRIA followed by cultural programme function
of IRIA.
On 18th of January, the topics are 'Imaging of Muscular dystrophies', 'CT perfusion
Imaging in Acute Stroke', 'Experience of area detector CT', USG-guided tumor
ablation - Present Status & Future Prospects, 'Is it morbidly adherent?,

For the session on 'Pediatric Intracranial vascular abnormalities', the topics

Know the Venue
It would be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre which is located
about 16 kilometres from the city centre on a sprawling 40 acre area on National
Highway Number four. It has a large convention centre with multiple halls, equipped
with the 'state-of-the-art' audio visual facilities. The expo hall where the
medical industries exhibition will be held boasts of facilities of international
standards and will be an exhibition to remember.
