Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore

Within a short span of six years, Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore, has established its presence in the heart of the Bangalore city. Presently, this Sagar Group led 250 bedded Hospital covers 500 patients per day in its OPD.

Achievements

The Hospital has brought in a wide array of medical technology. "Spinal cord stimulation for interactive angina, zygoma implant, and laparoscopic prostatectomy were the first utilised by our Hospital," says Dr Madan Gaikwad, Senior Executive-Vice President.

New Initiatives

Sagar Group is planning to start operations of its 415-bed speciality hospital at Banashankari, Bangalore. It also has plans to setup 300-bed secondary care hospital in Bangalore and 200 bed tertiary care hospitals in Mysore, Hubli, Davangere, Shimoga and Mangalore in Karnataka and in other parts of India at a project cost of about Rs 50 crore for each hospital. "The Group is planning to set up a chain of 50 to 100 pharmacies and a chain of polyclinics in Bangalore and other parts of Karnataka within the next two to three years," says Dr Gaikwad.

The Hospital has acquired many certifications since its inception. Says Dr Gaikwad, "We are NABH and ISO accreditated and in the process of going in for Australian Council for Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and later on for JCI accreditation." Medical and clinical laboratories are also in the final stages of NABL accreditation and have started the process for CAP accreditation.

Adopting New Technologies

The Hospital has been on the forefront to embrace superior technology for the better patient care. "Advanced technology like 128 slice cardiac CT, green light laser, high end MRI and core MIS OT will be installed in the new hospital at Banashankari, Bangalore," says Dr Gaikwad.

CSR

The Hospital has been conducting health camps in slum areas and villages around Bangalore and also in parks for aged and senior citizens. The Hospital has special cardiology scheme called Hrudaya Sagara, to cater to the healthcare needs of the people below poverty line at nominal charges.
