India Gifts 30 Ambulances to Nepali Hospitals

The Indian government has gifted 32 ambulances, eight buses and other materials worth about Rs 30 million to various Nepali hospitals, NGOs on the eve of 62nd Independence Day of India. At the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Indian envoy to Nepal, Rakesh Sood gifted 24 ambulances and five buses to the recipient organisations from 27 districts. Similarly, six ambulances and three buses were gifted by Consul General of India in Birgunj T Ashok to the recipient organisations from nearby districts. Since 1994, India has provided over 200 ambulances to various organisations across Nepal. Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Rakesh Sood handed over the vehicles and the supplies to the concerned bodies during a function held at the Indian Embassy in the capital. Meanwhile, Consul General T Ashok handed over ambulances and buses to half dozens of hospitals and schools in Birgunj area of Nepal.
