Manipal Cure and Care Wins the Golden Peacock Innovation Award
Manipal Cure and Care [MCC], has won the prestigious Golden Peacock Innovation
Award 2008 for its contribution to health and wellness sector through innovation.
The Award was conferred to Manipal Care and Cure by Baroness Fhreela Flather,
House of Lords and Dr Ola Ullsten, Prime Minister of Sweden, in London. This
year MCC had tough competition. A total of 353 applications were received by
GP Secretariat, out of which 126 were short-listed, after critical scrutiny
for final selection through three-tier assessment process. The Golden Peacock
Awards are considered as the holy grail of corporate excellence and its guidelines
provide a checklist for improvement and self-assessment in areas of quality,
innovation, training, governance, environment management and corporate social
responsibility. On being felicitated by the Golden Peacock Award, Somnath Das,
COO, Manipal Cure and Care said, "Innovation is an on going process and
the survival of any business concept rests on continuous innovation that impacts
customer experience. Last year we had won the Golden Peacock award for Innovative
Product/Service - 2007. This year's award reiterates the commitment we made
to ourselves and our customers to give them the best." The awards jury
was headed by Justice PN Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Member
UN Human Rights Commission and other Jury members include Justice MN Venkatchaliah,
former Chief Justice of India; Dr Olivier Giscard d'Estaing, Founder Chairman,
INSEAD, France; Dr SZ Qasim, Former Member Planning Commission; Dr VK Agnihotri,
Former Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Vinod Dhall, Chairman,
Competition Commission of India along with many others.
