Apollo Cradle Opens Its Third Facility in Kozhikode
It is an initiative of Dr Kutty Healthcare Private Limited
along with the AHLL
The Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited (AHLL) recently announced
that it broke ground for its third state -of-the-art birthing centre 'The Cradle'
at Kozhikode in Kerala.
The Cradle will be the newest and most complete women's centre in Kozhikode
dedicated specifically to the physical and emotional needs of expecting mothers
and newborns.
The Cradle Kozhikode is an initiative of Dr Kutty Healthcare Private Limited
in conjunction with the Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited.
Designed by Toronto-based Skydome Architects, the birthing
centre will provide an atmosphere of elegant comfort and relaxation, supported
by caring nursing staff and medical professionals. The Cradle Kozhikode will
be built on an area of 30,000 square feet and is expected to be ready by September
2009. The facility will offer four consultation rooms, two Labour, Delivery
and Recovery (LDR) suites, four suites, and about 20 deluxe and private rooms
apart from other facilities including a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Kozhikode records the highest numbers of delivery in Kerala. The Cradle aims
to capture 20 per cent of the total market.
The Cradle Kozhikode has many firsts to its credit:
- First to have a 'Boutique Maternity &
Neonatal Centre' in Kozhikode.
- First to introduce the "concept of
perinatal centre" in Kozhikode.
- It is also the first to introduce routine
neonatal screening for metabolic disorders and hearing screening (AABR)
as part of the maternal and neonatal package.
- First to introduce GIRAFFE - revolutionary
incubators for the care of all newborns in the Cradle Kozhikode.
- First to introduce the concept of antenatal
packages, antenatal classes and post natal care for the new mother.
- A specially designed 'baby bath' is available
in every room of the hospital.
- First to introduce revolutionary electric
beds with six linux motors in each room purely for the comfort of mothers.
