5th Edition of India Health Summit to be Held in New Delhi
The summit intends to bring together Indian and international
leaders in the healthcare sector on one platform
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with Indian Healthcare
Federation (IHCF) is organising the 5th edition of the India Health Summit in
New Delhi from 15 to 16 December 2008. The Summit intends to bring together
Indian and International leaders in the healthcare sector to set the tone and
direction for the development and growth in India. The two-day event focusing
on 'Optimising Healthcare Delivery in India: A Patient-centric Approach', will
provide a platform for all the various themes and issues in Healthcare services.
Top government officials, policy makers, regulators, and captains of the healthcare
industry and other stakeholders would attend the summit from across the globe.
The summit is a big and unique opportunity to expand businesses and understanding
of all such as state health ministers and other government dignitaries, hospital
directors, technology innovators, decision makers from public and private health
insurance companies, CEOs and top brass from the public and private hospitals
and nursing homes, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, healthcare industry
suppliers, material managers, clinicians, technicians, doctors, nursing professionals,
medical associations, consultants, etc.
The summit will also have the presence of other domains supporting the healthcare
delivery sector like NGOs, healthcare insurance, medical technology and investors
among others. The summit will consist of an exhibition space at the venue providing
an opportunity for product display, branding and marketing communication to
the exhibitors. A wellness lounge is being created to cover the entire spectrum
of the healthcare landscape. There will be several sessions with keynotes and
panel discussions on the following:

The CII, in its commitment to promote and to chalk out the
road map for healthcare services has been organising India Health Summit every
year since 2002. The 4th India Health Summit, which was organised in year 2007,
aided in crystalising an action agenda for the India healthcare sector, wherein
a series of high level discussion meetings were held with the Finance Minister,
Minister of Health and Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission to apprise on the
urgent need for a 'National Priority Sector' status for the healthcare sector.
