Endoscopy Asia Opens in Mumbai

On a 24X7 basis, Endoscopy Asia will provide the entire spectrum of endoscopic procedures and make them more affordable

Dr Vipulroy Rathod

Endoscopy Asia, a centre of excellence for endoscopic procedures for diseases related to gastro-intestinal tract, pancreas and biliary system, was inaugurated in Mumbai. On a 24X7 basis, Endoscopy Asia will provide the entire spectrum of endoscopic procedures and make them more affordable and easily available to patients of different socio-economic classes.

It is equipped with the first-generation universal Olympus Endoscopic Ultrasound Center EU-ME1, which has the ability to provide the entire range of diagnostic and interventional gastrointestinal and pancreato-biliary endoscopy. Most of the patients can undergo endoscopic procedures for diagnosis and treatment on a day care basis.

Endoscopic procedures reduces the cost of hospital stay and the need for pain medication and costly antibiotic usage. Dr Vipulroy Rathod, Consultant Endoscopic Surgeon, Endoscopy Asia, said, "Endoscopy Asia epitomises international standards of excellence, care and consistent quality in gastroenterology and endoscopy. It pushes the frontiers in medical education and research effecting cost-reductions up to 40 per cent in several endoscopic procedures for the patients."

Endoscopy Asia aims to familiarise and broaden the horizon of clinical application of endoscopy and especially Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) in India. It aims to make endoscopy the preferred modality of diagnosis and treatment for a majority of gastrointestinal and pancreato-biliary diseases.
