Dr Batra's Enters into JV with Nu/Hart
The strategic alliance would provide a one stop solution
in hair care
The internationally-acclaimed chain of super-speciality healthcare clinics
Dr Batra's and a leader in the field of micro-technological hair transplantation
and US-based Nu/Hart recently announced an enterprise in global healthcare solutions.
They have announced the launch of Dr Batras' Nu/Hart Hair Transplant Clinics,
a 51:49 sharing joint venture, in India.
The state-of-the-art flagship clinic was made operational from May at Nariman
Point, Mumbai. The average investment for the venture is estimated at Rs 20
crore over the next three years, to achieve a pan-India presence.
Said Dr Mukesh Batra, Founder and CMD, Dr Batra's, "This strategic announcement
highlights the shared objective of owning, building and driving the hair restoration
market in India, which is backed by a cumulative expertise of five decades,
having served clients across 68 countries worldwide. The joint venture will
focus on hair transplant and hair re-growth solutions for the discerning consumers
of the country."

prices, a competitive pricing strategy will be adopted. The strategic intent
is clearly to offer world class service to our Indian clients at Indian pricing.
With this new union, Dr Batra's aims at being a one stop solutions provider,
specialising in hair related matters. It is a matter of pride that we shall
be foraying into the speciality markets beyond homeopathy for the first time,"
he added.
Nu/Hart, USA has a domain exposure of over 20 years in the hair restoration
business and its renowned surgeons have performed over 30,000 procedures on
clients from over 40 countries. The core team at Nu/Hart comprises highly-specialised
and technologically advanced expert surgeons who offer high quality services
to ensure that their clients get satisfactory results.

options. This joint venture will result in the development of multiple hair
transplant centers throughout India."
Hair loss patterns differ between various races and ethnic groups and Nu/Hart
surgeons have treated American, European, Indian, Middle Eastern as well as
Asian and African clients. Prior to this venture, Nu/Hart has also treated numerous
Indian clients in their US and Dubai offices, which has empowered them with
concentrated experience in dealing with Indian hair loss clients.
Under this new alliance, Dr Mukesh Batra will hold the position of Chairman
and Dr Akshay Batra, Deputy Managing Director, Dr Batra's, will be the Director
for the Indian operations.
India represents a key market for hair restoration solutions as the Indian market
for the beauty and allied service industry is USD 6.3 billion with an annual
growth rate of 13 per cent. It is estimated that 36 per cent of the population
invest in hair care, 30 per cent invest in beauty products and 21 per cent in
skin products.
