Said Dr Ashok Seth, Chairman - Cardiac Sciences, EHIRCL, "A proactive initiative, 'Patient Safety Week' will help sensitise patients and healthcare providers to reduce the risk of medical error and reflect good practices by following the International Patient Safety Goals set by Joint Commission International (JCI)."

“JCI safety goals include identifying patient correctly, improving effective communication, improving safety of high-alert medications, eliminating wrong-site, wrong patient, wrong procedure surgery, reducing the risk of healthcare and aims at reducing any chance of incorrect surgery,” he added. During the Patient Safety Week, patients, their families and doctors joined hands to reinforce these international patient safety goals through skits, games and various interactive sessions.
