Ayurveda Hospital Inaugurated in Kochi

The 74-bed hospital would offer treatment which varies from seven to 42 days


Trikkakkara Hospital

Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala , which has been nationally recognised as an authentic practitioner and propagator of Ayurveda, brought its century-old expertise in Kochi by inaugurating Trikkakkara Hospital in the port city.

Arya Vaidya Sala's association with Kochi is 50-year-old, starting with the opening of a branch office in MG Road in 1957. The services of their expert doctors, skilled paramedical and support staffs are also made available at the Trikkakkara Hospital. All the Kottakkal medicines are made available in the hospital. Trikkakkara is in the middle of the city and yet away from the hustle and bustle of the noisy metropolis.

Vijayakumar AV, Deputy Manager, Administration, Trikkakkara Hospital, said, "This is a 74-bed hospital, which includes six AC single rooms, 24 AC double rooms, seven suites of four different types and two non AC general wards with six beds for male and female. We have patients from the US, the UK, Gulf and Germany and also many come in from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi apart from the patients from Kerala."

Some of the facilities in the hospital include in-patient and out-patient facilities, in-house expertise of doctors and staff members, 15 treatment rooms, AC rooms, VIP and mini suites available, library, a cafeteria serving all types of authentic vegetarian food. Physiotherapy and Yoga are also available, with appropriate backup arrangements to deal with clinical emergencies, All rooms have TV connection, net connectivity, indoor games and direct dial facilities.

"Most of the cases that come here are for arthritis, back pain, rheumatic disorders and obesity. The treatment varies from seven to 42 days, generally depending upon the diagnosis. The 90 staff in this hospital all will be at the service of the patient 24 x 7 x 365 days," he added.

Arya Vaidya Sala today is a multi-crore, multi-functional organisation with significant presence in medicine preparation and distribution, healthcare service, Ayurvedic research, education and publication and medicinal plant cultivation.
