In this new OT complex, the hospital plans to start cardiothoracic and neurosurgical operations, joint replacements and MIS work

Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital

NCR-based Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital (PCH) will have a new OT complex. Spread over an area of 14, 000 square feet, this OT will have world class amenities. Right now, there are three operation theatres, two on first floor and one on the ground floor. Post the construction, these two OTs will continue working as additional OTs for day care work and for minor routine surgical work. The present OT (on the ground floor) will be converted as an emergency OT.

Right now, the construction work is on. "We plan to move to this new OT complex by September this year," said Dr Swaraj Garg, HOD, Department of Anaesthesia, PCH. The highlights of this new OT complex will include-Guided Air Flow Ventilation system (GAF)= a patent technology for keeping surgical field free of contaminants. The Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning system (HVAC) are designed in such a manner that each OT will have individual air handling units (AHU) with automatic alarm indicators. Elaborating on the facilities, Dr Garg said, "The new OT complex will have state-of-the-art multi-purpose ceiling suspended pendant system, permanent antistatic homogenous vinyl flooring and scratch proof antibacterial and high density HPL boards cover all walls of OT rooms."

Also, the hospital claims that each OT will have independent control panel and all OTs will be equipped with audio visual conferencing facility. The cost of each OT is around Rs 40 lakh.

Said Dr Vinay Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, PCH, "In this state-of-the-art tertiary level multispecialty OT complex there are plans to start cardiothoracic and neurosurgical operations, joint replacements and minimal invasive surgeries along with the routine surgical work." He concluded, "The new state of art, digitalised OT complex at PCH will match the best in the world."
