Seminar
Clairvoyance 2009 in December
This year's event would highlight newer approaches to workforce
shortage and employability, healthcare financing and sustainability
Healthcare in India has witnessed colossal shifts in terms of its practice
and delivery over the last 50 years and the TISS School of Health Systems Studies
has always been instrumental in putting these changes 'in perspective'. A significant
step in this direction has been the 'Annual Healthcare Conference - Clairvoyance'.
'Clairvoyance' is a signature annual event conducted by the students of SHSS.
It is an endeavour to bring together multitudes of healthcare professionals,
students and industry leaders to a common platform of deliberation and discussion.
Enhancing Abilities, Mitigating Vulnerabilities
With the doubling of household incomes and an increasing health consciousness,
Indian Healthcare is poised for unprecedented growth - 'The Tipping Point' in
essence has been reached. However, with this ever-increasing demand, the only
hurdle to 'Health for All' is a lack of sufficient infrastructure, manpower
and technology to cater to the needs of our billion plus population. This has
been the major thought behind this year's theme 'Capacity Building in Healthcare'
This year's event would highlight newer approaches to workforce shortage and
employability, healthcare financing and sustainability and the widespread use
of technology. With this overarching theme, some of the areas which would be
addressed by eminent speakers from the industry include:
- Capacity building at grass root level.
- Middle management level capacity building.
- Sensitisation of the health workforce towards HIV/AIDS.
- Capacity building in healthcare consultancies.
- Human resource management in the current scenario.
- Strategic business plans/models for hospitals.
- Breaking new grounds in hospital financing.
- Technological capacity building in hospitals.
The recently concluded 'TISS Alumni Meet 2009' (August 22) would serve as a
prelude to the conference and also help in incorporating the ideas of over 100
distinguished professionals from the field of healthcare administration.
