Please elaborate on the quality measures
Leadership in quality can only be accomplished by ongoing improvements and through
the active participation of all employees. We are humbled that our excellence
has been recognized by the new benchmark for healthcare quality in India - NABH,
and for quality assurance-ISO 9001:2000. We, at Moolchand, are proud to meet
these stringent standards that cover patient care, safety, continuous quality
improvement and innovation.
The quality measures taken to assure the highest level of clinical care are
mentioned below:
Quality Management System (QMS): The Quality and Systems
(Q&S) department describes the implementation of requirements of Quality
Management System (QMS) for Moolchand. QMS addresses all requirements and elements
of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. All processes necessary for delivery of quality
services and compliance with patient/ customer requirements are defined, implemented,
maintained, controlled and continually improved.
Audit Division: We ensure that each segment of the
hospital and component of the quality system is audited atleast half yearly.
Moolchand maintains a system-level procedure that outlines the scope, frequency
and methodology of its internal audits.
Process Excellence: This division is responsible to
implement and sustain 5S and QCC techniques across due organisation:
5S: 5S is a Japanese management approach and a commitment
towards improvement of quality, cost, delivery, safety, morale and environment.
It helps the hospital to improve the delivery of service and reduce the loss
by eliminating waste in Man, Machine, and Material And Method (4M) categories.
This technique assists us in reducing data entry and missed information errors
and enhances visual effects.
Quality Control Circle (QCC)
QCC is an activity where four to six people form a group and deal with some
defects or problems to make continuous improvements in processes and quality
to attain 100 per cent customer satisfaction and increase profits for the organisation.
Please elaborate on the use of IT in the hospital?
Advanced computerisation has contributed immensely towards patient safety. The
use of cutting edge technology like new diagnostic tools such as 64 slice CT
scan, advanced 600 mA X-ray machines, high-end ultrasound machines, etc. help
in rapid and accurate diagnosis. The neonatal transport systems and telemedicine
facilities help to provide healthcare to patients from far away places. Further,
advanced and better monitoring systems help in smooth hospital management.
IT is also used to drive clinical quality and effective operation of the Hospital
Management System. It follows an online standard for implementing and operating
a complete information security process for maintaining patient records.
What is the road ahead for the hospital?
At Moolchand, our plan is to emerge as a top three healthcare services provider
in North India through the development of a portfolio of hospitals and Medcities.
We are in the process of transforming our landmark South Delhi campus to be
India's largest single site multi-hospital complex. Moolchand Medcity, Lajpat
Nagar, which will have 1,500 beds.
