Max Healthcare Gets a New Joint MD

Max Healthcare Institute Limited has recently announced the appointment of Padma Shri Dr Pradeep Chowbey as the Joint Managing Director of the company. Dr Chowbey will also be the Chief of surgery and Allied Surgical Specialities and Director of the newly inaugurated 38-bed Institute of Minimal Access Surgery, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Prior to this, he was the Chairman of the Minimal Access, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr Chowbey is a pioneer in Minimal Access, Metabolic and Bariatric (Obesity) Surgeries. In his capacity as the 'Director - Minimal Access, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery', Dr Chowbey has established an international-class Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery in this region. Dr Chowbey is the honorary laparoscopic surgeon to the President of India and to His Holiness The Dalai Lama. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2002, for his dedication and service in the field of minimal access surgery by the President of India.

Said Dr Chowbey, "The team of specialists, at the Max Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery brings with it an accumulated experience of over 48,000 laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries spanning over two decades. One of the foremost priorities of the Institute is teaching and training surgeons in the art and safe practice of minimal access and bariatric surgery. The team has produced a set of educational CD-Roms on all basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures for surgeons negotiating the learning curve.
