Ashva Technologies gallops into 2010 Indian digital healthcare company looks to modernize imaging centres

Indian digital healthcare company looks to modernize imaging centres

Chennai

Sunder Natrajan

CEO, Ashva

When it comes to modernizing Radiology in India, how do you get the most bang for your buck? The larger, more established hospitals across India have already made significant steps towards upgrading their imaging technology with cutting edge modalities and advanced new techniques. But that's not enough, says Ashva CEO Sunder Natrajan.

"For every one hospital there are a hundred imaging centers," says Mr. Natrajan, "and they represent a majority of the imaging volume in India. That's where we have to focus. We have to give them the tools to be more accurate, more efficient, and, yes, more profitable."

And Sunder is putting action to words. At the annual IRIA conference in Ahmedabad this year, Ashva Technologies will be unveiling their new PACSBox™ product - a powerful, integrated appliance designed to give imaging centers an affordable and painless entry into the digital world. "That healthcare is going digital is a fact," says Sunder. "It is inescapable, and not to be feared. After all, with the transformation to digital comes greater efficiency, lower costs, higher volume and a transition away from planet-harming practices such as using film. What should be feared is staying analog in a digital world - who wants to be left behind after all?"

Ashva is certainly well situated to provide these imaging centers with the digital radiology and workflow technologies that their larger cousins are enjoying. Named Frost & Sullivan's 2009 Indian PACS Company of the Year, Ashva is a globally recognized name in the field of Radiology imaging solutions. The company has an Asia-Pacific presence of over 700 installations and maintains active operations in the United States. Recently, Ashva partnered with Telerad Tech for the purposes of developing a dedicated teleradiology solution.

"We are uniquely situated," says Sunder, "in both expertise and ability to execute. We understand the specific needs of local imaging centers, with their small pool of radiologists and their need to process many patients. And we know that many of these doctors want to be able to access their work from home or be a part of this growing teleradiology field. Currently, they look at the field and they think, 'how can I afford this' or 'this is too complex now, I will do it later.' We're here to show them that it's easier than they think, and more affordable, and that they can have the same advantages that the larger hospitals do at a fraction of the price."

PACSBox™ promises to be an exciting entrant at IRIA, and is only the first of Ashva's innovations for the Indian market. "We can't talk about our other projects too much," says Sunder, "but I can say that we are looking to offer not just new appliances but new methods of pricing, as well. Look for our Pay-Per-Use pricing model at IRIA!"

Ashva is certainly letting nothing hold it back as it gallops forward into 2010 and beyond.
