Thane's Jupiter Hospital recently launched Jupiter Cancer
Institute with a commitment to provide world class technology and infrastructure
for comprehensive and multidisciplinary medical, surgical and radiation treatment
of cancer patients. Jupiter Hospital is the first hospital in Maharashtra and
Central India to use the IGRT/IMRT Linac with 160 Leaf MLC technology for treatment
of cancer patients with radiation.
Jupiter Hospital with the help of Jupiter Foundation has
built up a 21-bed economy wing for comprehensive cancer care for the benefit
of the economically challenged patients. The centre is expected to do about
thousand cancer surgeries per annum and treat another thousand cancer patients
at highly subsidised rates. There would be no compromise in the quality of treatment.
The patient will get the same quality of treatment and would use the diagnostic
services which are being used by local and international patients. The structure
of cancer wing consists of 21 beds with six beds for twin sharing facility and
two multi sharing rooms consisting of five beds and four beds each.
All admissions would happen through the MSW and self declaration of financial
status would be accepted and no other proofs will be insisted. Patient will
sign a form saying that the financial status is poor and Jupiter Foundation
is requested to support the part of the treatment charges as per the policy.
Jupiter Cancer Wing supported by the Jupiter Foundation has also started Charitable
OPD thrice a week. To support the above cause and to answer the queries of cancer
patients a dedicated Jupiter Cancer Helpline 128 129 has been launched. This
helpline will work between 9.00 am to 6.00 pm every day except sundays and holidays.
Dr Ajay Thakker, Chairman & CEO, Jupiter Hospital, said, "This is small
initiate to take care of the economically challenged cancer patients and provide
them the best cancer treatment under one roof".
