FANEM brings CPAP Neonatal Respiratory Device to India

Babypap is a high-quality product made with cutting edge technology that costs 4 to 5 times less than traditional respirators

FANEM, the main Brazilian manufacturer of neonatal equipment and the one with significant presence in the global market for incubators, is bringing Babypap to India. The equipment is recommended for treating respiratory pathologies in newborns using the bubble CPAP system. The system is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, has a modern design (light and compact) and is entirely portable. The great advantage of Babypap is its excellent cost/benefit ratio, since it costs four to five times less than traditional respirators and uses a kind of technology that eliminates constant maintenance costs.

"Babypap was created to relieve the demand for respirators, since the majority of maternities do not have enough equipment available for all newborns," says Djalma Luiz Rodrigues, industrial director at FANEM. Rodrigues notes that "about 40 per cent of babies intubated could be using CPAP, leaving the respirators available for more critical cases."

Babypap is a product easily used by all health professional and it is highly efficient when used in basic ventilation mode. It allows a mixture of heated and humidified air and O2 to flow at a controlled pressure via a bubble water column, providing Continuous Positive Pressure to the airways - CPAP - in a non-invasive way.

Babypap can be used in conjunction with the infant nasal CPAP kits which contain, among other items, an application system, silicone nasal prong, disposable tubes, connectors and an unprecedented accessory called Gorro Banda (Band Cap). The Gorro Banda is made from synthetic fabric, is non-allergenic and has technology that absorbs sweat, allowing rapid evaporation of it. It can be used as an auxiliary cap with passages for attaching patient circuits or as a protective eye band that blocks the entrance of light during phototherapy. According to the industrial director of Fanem, "the Gorro Banda replaces the improvised bandages currently used today."

FANEM holds 85 per cent of the Brazilian market and is the Brazilian company with the largest international presence within the global industry for neonatal medical equipment, along with significant presence in the segment of incubators.
