Guidelines 2009 in May

A conference focused on the latest and best existing evidence-based guidelines in critical care

The Department of Intensive Care Medicine at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune will be hosting a conference on 'Guidelines in critical care' on the May 23-24, 2009.

According to Organising Chairman Dr Prasad Rajhans, "Guidelines 2008 received an overwhelming response and the concept of hosting a conference based on guidelines has been highly appreciated by the delegates. There are clear take-home messages at the end of each lecture."

Guidelines conference also comes out with an easy ready reference booklet which can be used at the bedside. The practicing doctor needs very crisp and clear guidelines to manage their critically ill patients and that is what this conference focuses on. There will be only one track and registrations are limited to 300 delegates only.

The organisers have invited eminent national and international speakers who would deliver talks on various interesting topics. Professor Jean Louis Vincent from Brussels, who is an internationally renowned expert in critical care, will be the lead speaker. Renowned intensivists, cardiologists, neurologists, gastroenterologists, anaesthesiologists and nephrologists will form the faculty for the conference.

The patron of the conference is Dr Dhananjay Kelkar, the Medical Director of the hospital. Dr Sameer Jog is the Scientific Committee Chairman.

Dr Prasad Akole, Dr Balasaheb Pawar and Dr Bhagyashri Bhurke are the organising secretaries. "Guidelines 2009 will be a great academic feast for physicians, intensivists anesthesiologists and critical care trainees -so mark your dairies and register early!" says Dr Rajhans.
