Dr Sanjiv Malik passes away

Dr Sanjiv Malik, Senior Vice President and CEO of Aster Hospital and Medical Centres – GCC, passed away last month after a sudden heart attack in Dubai. The 50-year-old Executive Director for DM Healthcare was heading the hospitals and the consultancy division business of the group.

He also lead the quality assurance, HR and training divisions of the whole conglomerate. A keen communicator and effective team leader Dr Malik served at various companies in senior positions prior to DM healthcare. He has worked with Max healthcare Delhi and MMR eye institute Delhi. He was International Board Member, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), India, from 2010 onwards.

A renowned name in the healthcare industry globally, Dr Malik was a leading strategist and a thought leader in the fields of medical tourism and healthcare management. He was a much sought after speaker at healthcare conferences and events around the world.

A diligent professional, Dr Malik received his MBA in Healthcare Management from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University, and MS – Ophthalmology (Master of Surgery) from Western Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Ahmedabad.

Dr Malik is survived by his wife Aradhana and daughter Arunima.
