FORTIS C-DOC to launch ‘Diabetes Rath’ on World Diabetes Day

On the occasion of World Diabetes day, Fortis C-DOC (Centre of Excellence for Diabetes, Metabolic Diseases & Endocrinology), a part of the Fortis Healthcare India, will launch a ‘Diabetes Rath’ (Diabetes Prevention & Care on Wheels). It is an endeavour to extend comprehensive care of diabetes and related disorders and to spread awareness about the disease to the general public. It will travel to various parts of Delhi-NCR from November 14-22, 2013, with a special emphasis on the underprivileged in slum areas of Kusumpur Pahadi, Kathputli and Yamuna Pushta. along with some RWAs in Delhi.

Ashish Bhatia, COO, Fortis Group and Aditya Vij, CEO, Fortis Group will flag off the Diabetes Rath. Monika Kapil Mohta, India’s Ambassador to Poland and Lithuania, will be the Guest of Honour.

The Diabetes Rath will reportedly offer a number of free-of-cost services like random blood sugar testing, foot and nerve assessment, consultations with doctors and nutritionists on board, Skype consultation facility with specialists at their nodal centres with discount on follow-up visit, and dissemination of comprehensive information on diabetes, its complications, drugs & nutrition.
