Metropolis Healthcare’s strengthens presence in North India

Metropolis Healthcare,  strengthens its presence in North India through its announcement of three greenfield and two brownfield ventures to upsurge its business and provide quality diagnostic services as part of the key objectives for the company in the financial year 2012-13.

With an investment of Rs one crore each in Lucknow, Bareilly and Jalandhar, these green field ventures are spread over an area of 3000 sq ft, 1380 sq ft and 3000 sq ft respectively. Furthermore, Metropolis has recently acquired two brownfield ventures in Chandigarh and Jodhpur spread across an area of 2,000 and 6,000 sq ft. It holds a maximum stake of 70 per cent in each of these labs. Equipped with high-end lab and equipment, these labs will provide an in-house facility for routine and semi specialised tests with a faster turnaround time of four hours under the supervision of a qualified specialist team. Besides the Jodhpur lab which provides routine with Histopathology testing, all the other labs mentioned above will provide routine with Immunoassay testing. Metropolis also enables reports to their customers via emails and web. Each of these lab will be catering to around population of 10 -15 lakhs.

On the occasion, Ameera Shah, MD and CEO, Metropolis Healthcare said, “North India is potentially prone to lifestyle diseases. It needs a lot of awareness and facility for health checks. By setting up new laboratory services in the North India we will be fulfilling this requirement.”

Metropolis Healthcare now plans to add 12 greenfield labs and a reasonable number of brownfield labs across tier II and tier III cities in India. These well-equipped labs will be located in cities like Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Thane, Cochin, Bangalore, Ludhiyana, Amritsar, Patiyala, Gurgaon etc.
