MV Diabetes to continue as WHO collaborating centre in India

MV Hospital for Diabetes and Diabetic Research Center recently completed its 60 years of work in the field of diabetology.

MV Hospital is a WHO collaborating centre in the prevention and control of diabetes in India and would continue in the same capacity. The hospital has treated over three lakh patients from all over the country and has been in the vanguard in innovative research such as link of diabetes with tuberculosis etc.

The Governor of Tamil Nadu, Dr K Rosaiah lauded the services rendered by MV Diabetes Hospital at a function in Chennai, organised to mark the Diamond Jubilee, and attended by renowned diabetologists from all over the world.

Dr Vijay Vishwanathan, MD highlighted the role of the institution in providing higher education in the field of diabetes. On this occasion, Governor of Tamil Nadu launched a Diabetes Control Programme along with the Indian Red Cross Society and Madras School of Social Work.
