CliniVantage introduces CliniQs to deliver value-based care at the time of COVID-19

CliniVantage solutions are built on AI and interoperability technologies, that can enhance efficiencies for clinicians. Nilesh Jain, MD, Clinivantage, throws more light on how CliniQ, a HIPAA compliant solution designed and developed for clinicians will help understand physician activity and align them with the organisation’s goals, in interaction with Sanjiv Das

How is CliniVantage assisting clinicians to manage and interpret data?

CliniVantage solutions are built on the pillar of AI and interoperability. It easily adopts secure technology that takes the clinician’s business to the forefront of care delivery and improves your bottom line.

CliniQ is a HIPAA Compliant solution designed and developed by CliniVantage for clinicians to understand physician activity and aligns them with the organisation’s goals. It is committed to ongoing innovation, developing cloud-based solutions that address the challenges that clinicians, hospitals and health systems face. Our solutions facilitate data exchange, streamline workflows, improve outcomes, and power data-driven and cost-effective patient-centric care. The solution provides actionable data and connectivity across the care continuum so that the doctor can focus on what is important and that is care delivery. As we all know, healthcare data management is the process of storing, protecting, and analysing data compiled from diverse sources. Managing this available healthcare data allows medical professionals to create holistic views of patients, personalise treatments, improve communication, and enhance health outcomes. Hence, we focus on creating 360-degree views of patients, deploy personalised, guided interactions by integrating data from the patient-centric application and smart IoT devices. This enables informed, high-impact business decisions based on data insights. Insights of physician and claims data help healthcare organisations discover actionable insights and how to effectively execute them. Gathering, managing and analysing physician data provide a view into physician behaviour.

What are your goals for the next five years and the growth projections?

Digital health trends require the current technologies to rethink the way they operate, adopting new models that shift from acute to preventive care; embedding digital technology into the heart of these transformations. CliniQ powers this by supporting connection and collaboration, and by providing the information needed to make better decisions.

In future, we plan to focus on developing and the scaling solutions that will:

  1. Connect healthcare to enable effective care delivery and remote monitoring through end to end healthcare solutions and smart IoT devices

  2. Nationwide Single Citizen Health Record: Strive to achieve one patient-one record philosophy and Population Health Dashboard & Tools

How can healthcare companies accrue the benefits of CliniVantage?

Insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, innovators and also the government can benefit from the suite of solutions we offer in CliniVantage.

The solution acts as an innovative solution to explore the possibilities of increasing market share for pharma players. It helps to focus on six dimensions of patient centricity that include disease and geography prioritisation, clinical trials, patient segmentation, patient engagement, treatment access, and personalised adherence. The dashboard that helps drugmakers understand patient health records to unlock insights on how medicines perform on different patient profiles.

When we think of insurers, the payers and the providers can build a system that accelerates the innovation of shaping and improving the healthcare system to respond better to patient needs via accurate, collated, aggregated, and meaningful data that provides information and actionable insights for every segment. The platform provides real-time vertical care records that allow payers to tailor individual premiums and reduce risk. The automated claim and eligibility checks communicated to the provider in real-time eases the claim management process and bring efficiency.

What role is AI playing in this endeavour?

AI is the heart of our solution. The doctor uses their tablet to review the patient’s continuous heartbeat, blood glucose, pressure and many more vital signs remotely, and evaluate using AI and ML trends that are very personalised to the patient. When irregularities are noted, the doctor shares this immediately with a specialist (cardiologist, diabetologist) to diagnose the patient and set up a care plan – the issue can be dealt with in real-time. This is what we have become accustomed to when booking flights, doing our finances or shopping online. It’s a world where someone with a chronic condition has all their vital data streamed to their care team who will probably know before the patient does that someone needs to step in to provide support or treatment. With the growth of wearable technology and remote monitoring, in addition to conventional patient records, there will be analyses of large amounts of data supporting more personalised medicine, treatment will be individually tailored.

What will be your new technological offerings?

Currently what India needs is a quality healthcare system that is affordable and accessible to most Indian citizens. With all the possible uncertainties we don’t have a clear picture on how to mitigate the spread of such diseases in vulnerable populations. At present, technology is turning out to be our best bet for enabling early detection of the disease and supporting remote monitoring. The right use of technology will enable physicians to do real-time monitoring of the health data to accelerate the treatment in time with improved effectiveness.

Firstly, enabling instant screening of diseases. Healthcare technology has advanced enough to enable the management of electronic health records, clinical decision support, patient engagement tools, computerised order entry, laboratory and medical imaging information systems, health information exchanges, and medical devices. These solutions capture information about a patient that informs the diagnostic process, including the clinical history and interview, physical exam, and diagnostic testing results; shaping a clinician’s workflow and decision making in the diagnostic process; and facilitate data interoperability. CliniVantage Healthcare Technologies has launched Caremate Health ATM. It provides pre-screening using the health ATM and the suspected cases with their case history can also be tested using a rapid test for the Corona COVID-19 test. Such kind of technology can be implemented at the airports, railway stations, educational institutions and hospitals. The ATM can provide instant patient screening for symptoms including self-screening parameters and secondary rapid test for Covid-19 – instant test results.

Secondly, focus on the value of point of care diagnosis. Most of the time we see there is a lack of nurses, doctors, medical engineers and radiology specialists to conduct the necessary examination of the patients, especially in the rural areas. We can’t deny that long waiting times and deteriorating care caused by a lack of staff on the wards impacts the rate at which patients are treated. The healthcare solutions offered by CliniQ makes it possible to achieve a point of care diagnostics possible and increase the turnaround time of care delivery for each individual patient. Through our robust set of solutions, hospitals can run rapid results, reduce the need for multiple patient visits, enable timely treatment, and facilitate the containment of infectious disease outbreaks. With the rise of connected consumer electronic devices, patients can now interact with point-of-care technology along with their mobile devices and manage their own health.

Lastly, is the use of telemedicine for remote monitoring. Telemedicine has changed the way healthcare providers and consumers interact with each other. CliniQ also encompasses a telemedicine suite that helps patients manage and monitor their health records and receive prompt prescriptions for quicker treatment. Healthcare providers can get real-time access to their health records and consult necessary remedies/tests at that very moment before things get critical. It provides convenient and cost-effective care.

This kind of remote care is very beneficial for patients with non-communicable diseases. Such technology can

  • Extends access to consultation

  • Increasing patient engagement

  • Better quality patient care

  • More convenient, accessible care for patients

What type of benefits are you offering to the clinicians during the COVID-19 outbreak?

With the drive to deliver value-based care at the time of the pandemic, CliniVantage has launched CliniQ. CliniQ is complete practice management with telemedicine features that encompasses a mobile application for patients and the integration of smart IoT devices. CliniQ is launched in order to revolutionise the synergy between patients and doctors. The vision is to inspire futuristic healthcare that is accessible to all. CliniQ unifies all roles of doctor’s practice, provides advanced clinical care and enables him to bypass various redundant tasks via a dynamic dashboard and application for practitioners and patients to seamlessly communicate, exchange medical records and information.

CliniQ offers a full spectrum of collaborative tools to enable remote consultations in a seamless and secure environment. Such robust technology enables doctors to see patients beyond the clinical setting. With CliniQ, practitioners can build, scale and optimise their practice by providing service through virtual examination. The aim here is to enable proactive care for infected patients.

The platform is connected with IoT devices and an application for patients and doctors. CliniQ has a suite of IoT devices that can be used for remote care monitoring. Their IoT device, Doctor of Things (DoT) can test blood pressure, oxygen, blood sugar levels, temperature and ECG. For communicable diseases like COVID-19, continuous monitoring of the patient’s vitals is very necessary. The vitals monitored through this IoT device gets reflected in the patient’s mobile application and the clinician can monitor these vitals on a real-time basis. This solution empowers nurses and doctors who need to track body temperature remotely in order to reduce the risk of becoming infected. In case the situation gets critical, the providers get notifications or alerts about the current condition of their patients.

The solution minimises in-person interaction and thus reducing the risk associated with coming into contact with infected patients and accelerates treatment time and effectiveness.

The patient’s application also helps them to know the delays in the doctor’s appointments in order to avoid unnecessary ‘extra’ waiting time in a crowded waiting room with sick and potentially infectious patients. The doctors can share a list of precautions and uniquely personalised videos for each patient on how a high-risk patient can stay safe. The patients can also have a video call with the doctors to help triage medical issues.
