47th day of decline in India’s reported daily new COVID-19 cases: MoH&FW

Total number of tests done on November 18, was 10,28,203, no breakup was given between RT-PCR and the rapid antigen test (RAT), with some guestimates putting the RAT at 65 per cent

India’s active COVID-19 cases as on November 19, 11.30 IST stood at 45,576, with new cases of the last 24 hours at 3502. This represents 4.95 per cent of the country’s total cases and continues the trend of decreasing number of reported daily new cases, since the past 47 days, as per Ministry of Health & Family Welfare data.

As per the MoH&FW website, the total number of tests done on November 18, was 10,28,203.

As per the ICMR site, of the total 12.85 crores (120.8 million) tests conducted by India, more than 5.84 crore (58.4 million) are RT PCR, putting the Rapid Antigen tests (RAT) at more than 7 crore (70 million).

The number of recovered/discharged COVID-19 cases, at 8383602, with 48493 added in the last 24 hours, made up 93.58 per cent of India’s total COVID-19 reported cases.

The gap between recovered and active cases continues to steadily increase, presently at 79,40,299, with 77.27 per cent of the new recovered cases contributed by ten States/UTs.

With 7,066 persons recovering from COVID, Kerala saw the most number of recoveries. Delhi registered another 6,901 daily recoveries while Maharashtra reported 6,608 new recoveries.

Ten States/UTs have contributed 77.28 per cent of the new cases, with the same three states/UT reflecting in this list too: Delhi reported 7,486 cases in the last 24 hours. Kerala recorded 6,419 new cases while Maharashtra registered 5,011 new cases yesterday.

79.49 per cent of the 585 case fatalities been reported in the past 24 hours are from ten States/UTs, with 22.39 per cent from Delhi (131 deaths) followed by Maharashtra (100) while West Bengal reported 54 new deaths.
