AAF Supports Karnataka govt with HEPA filters for modular mobile ICUs for COVID-19 patients

AAF (American Air Filter), a Daikin group of company, is supporting the Government of Karnataka by offering clean air solutions to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, by building reportedly the first modular mobile ICUs for COVID-19 patients equipped with high-efficiency HEPA filters from AAF.

Clean air is vital in healthcare facility operations to protect patients, staff, and visitors from airborne diseases and infections. The company has been providing clean air solutions to healthcare facilities to maintain infection-free zones in healthcare facilities. In times of COVID-19, the company has reportedly served several hospitals, pharma companies, clinics, ambulances, and testing labs by offering high purity filtration solutions.

The pilot project designed to treat COVID-19 patients is installed with high-performance HEPA filters to effectively capture airborne particles that harbor bacteria and viruses on it. AAF partnered with this project by demonstrating the highest quality control measures in the filter production and manufacturing process. as per a company release, it is the only company in India to have an auto-scan test machine to scan HEPA and ULPA filters compliant to EN1822.

The airtight AHU design contains a prefilter to capture big particles, the fine filter of grade F5 for fine particles and HEPA filters to trap viruses and bacteria. The exhaust system of the models is also designed with HEPA.

As per a release, all HEPA and ULPA filters produced by AAF are manufactured in an ISO Class 8 cleanroom environment. These high-efficiency filters are individually tested by automatic filter scanner compliant with EN 1822 standards and packed in a controlled environment. EN 1822 testing machines at  AAF India facility meets strict quality requirements that aims at the zero leakage of the HEPA filters. All AAF manufacturing processes are ISO 9001 certified.
