Max Hospital, Saket and Abbott have announced the launch of India’s first dual chamber leadless Aveir pacemaker with an aim to deploy next-generation technologies in healthcare delivery.
The Dual Chamber Leadless Aveir Pacemaker, developed by Abbott, is the first pacemaker in the world that enables synchronized pacing in both the right atrium and right ventricle without traditional leads or surgical pockets. This new technology minimises the risks associated with lead-related complications and optimizes comfort and long-term safety for the patient.
This technology is a complete transformation in cardiac care, because it is smaller, minimal invasive and smarter than traditional systems, that redefine how pacing therapy can be carried out, this will allow patients to improve heart health with greater freedom and fewer medical constraints.
Dr. Balbir Singh said “This initiative is a major milestone for Indian cardiology and Max Hospital. Calling the device a “wonder of modern science” because it is compact, intelligent and designed with the patient experience in mind. He indicated it is meant to eliminate many of the shortcomings of traditional pacing systems and therefore represents the future of minimally invasive cardiac care, for us at Max Hospital it is a proud moment to be a leader in this global medical advance and to be able to bring this life-changing technology to the patients of India.”
Dr. Cyrus Hadadi shared similar sentiments about Abbott’s innovations setting the global standard for medical technology and that the launch of the dual chamber leadless Aveir pacemaker is about not just the technology, but the improvement of the quality of life for patients everywhere. “This device exemplifies what modern medicine is capable of when precision engineering and patient centered design come together. It is a proud moment for both the global and Indian medical communities.”
