Aksigen IVF opens embryology laboratory in Mumbai

Facility launched under ROOTS 360 framework with IVF technologies and digital traceability systems

Aksigen IVF announced the inauguration of an embryology laboratory in Andheri East, Mumbai, under its ROOTS 360 framework. The laboratory was inaugurated by Dr Rupin Shah.

The ROOTS 360 framework integrates clinical science, laboratory processes and digital systems to support fertility care. It includes laboratory operations, clinical care, digital infrastructure and patient education.

The embryology laboratory has been developed in accordance with ICMR and ESHRE guidelines and the ART Act 2021 standards. It is designed to support assisted reproductive procedures with protocols for laboratory safety, quality control and procedural consistency.

The facility supports IVF technologies including Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI), Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT/PGD), laser assisted hatching and embryo culture and cryopreservation.

The laboratory operates under controlled air quality, temperature and humidity conditions. Procedures follow standardised SOP-based workflows with systems for cryopreservation and micromanipulation.

Aksigen IVF has deployed the LensHooke CASA X12 Pro system for semen analysis, including assessment of DNA fragmentation, to support evaluation of male fertility.

The facility includes an RFID-based chain-of-custody system supported by biometric verification to enable traceability of biological samples during the IVF process. This is supported by double-witnessing protocols and digital documentation systems.
