Bada Business and ISKCON setup 200-bedded makeshift hospital for COVID-19 patients

The fully functional free facility, set up within four days, went live from 3rd May, 2021 comprising a team of 10 doctors and 18 nurses

Bada Business has set up a makeshift hospital for COVID-19 patients in Dwarka, Delhi to serve the rising need for healthcare in the fight against the second wave of COVID-19.

To support the COVID-19 relief efforts, a college has been converted into a temporary hospital with 200 beds. Efforts are being made to expand the capacity from the existing 200 to 500 beds. The team is working to create an ICU and ventilator facility that will be operational in the next few days. The facility has a dedicated 10-member team of doctors and 18 nurses to ensure that the medical services reach all the patients and that they get requisite timely treatment. Few medical facilitators are also contributing resources to further strengthen the initiative.

Patients with oxygen levels up to 88 would be treated at this hospital inclusive of their nutritional needs. The team has also tied up with Janakpuri Super Speciality hospital to handle critical patients. To ensure the safety of the medical staff, a centralised monitoring system is being used for the patients. At present, only two hospitals in Delhi are using this technology.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Vivek Bindra, Founder and CEO, Bada Business, said, “Saving every life at this point in time is an utmost priority. We are honoured to share this responsibility to serve our community alongside ISKCON that backs our vision. We are confident that with our combined efforts, we will be victorious in alleviating healthcare where it is needed the most.”

Extending the support to the initiative, ISKCON Authorities said, “This partnership with Bada business has shown that together works better as we delivered a hospital in a matter of a few days. Seeing this effort, we hope more corporates will come forth to support such noble initiatives”

ISKCON was already engaged in delivering free, safe and hygienic food to the COVID patients at their doorsteps in Delhi. Requesting anyone who is in need of treatment to drop in.
