BLS to verify Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries in Gujarat

BLS International will verify beneficiary details at the BIS platform level, ensure adherence to defined turnaround timelines, and deploy adequate operational and compliance controls

BLS International Services has received a work order from the State Health Agency (SHA), Gujarat, to undertake verification of pending e-KYC enrolments under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana – Mukhyamantri Amrutam (AB PMJAY-MA) scheme, through the National Health Authority’s (NHA) Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) platform.

The assignment has been issued in line with BLS International’s existing empanelment with the National Health Authority (NHA) and is aimed at accelerating the clearance of pending beneficiary records and strengthening data integrity in the Ayushman Bharat ecosystem in Gujarat. Under the mandate, BLS International will verify beneficiary details at the BIS platform level, ensure adherence to defined turnaround timelines, and deploy adequate operational and compliance controls.

“We are honored to be entrusted with this critical responsibility by the State Health Agency (SHA), Gujarat. The AB-PMJAY-MA scheme is a game-changer for the people of Gujarat, providing access to quality healthcare services to frontline health workers, including ASHAs and Angadwadi workers, senior citizens without financial hardship. We will ensure seamless beneficiary verification services and timely distribution of the cards. We believe that our expertise and technology infrastructure will play a vital role in making healthcare more accessible and affordable for the people of Gujarat,” Shikhar Aggarwal, JMD of BLS International & Chairman of BLS E-Services said.

The current monthly figure for Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) stands at 1,89,378 new registrations. Cumulatively, the overall count has now reached an impressive 4,96,19,684 accounts. Furthermore, a significant portion of these accounts are actively integrated with digital health records, with the total number of Health Records Linked overall being 2,77,13,703. This demonstrates substantial progress in building a connected digital health ecosystem under the ABHA initiative.

The scope of work also places strong emphasis on data security, fraud prevention and operational governance, including strict monitoring of authorised personnel and compliance with non-disclosure and performance security requirements. The move comes amid heightened focus by state and central authorities on safeguarding beneficiary data and ensuring the credibility of Ayushman Bharat enrolments.

Ayushman Bharat PMJAY is the Government of India’s flagship health assurance scheme, providing health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per eligible family. Efficient verification and authentication of beneficiaries is considered a critical pillar for ensuring that benefits reach the intended population without leakages or delays.

BLS International has been working closely with government agencies across social welfare and citizen service delivery programs, leveraging its technology-enabled processes and experience in large-scale verification and authentication projects.

The work order remains valid up to December 31, 2025, or until new card processing agencies are boarded by the NHA, whichever is earlier.
