Columbia Asia Referral Hospital – Yeshwanthpur organised a health talk for the students of Cluny Convent School on women-related health issues.

The objective of the health talk was to educate young minds on various issues that pose threat to women’s health like – heart disease, breast cancer, osteoporosis, depression, and autoimmune diseases. The doctors also shared preventive measures and guidelines to prevent such ailments. This health talk also aimed at encouraging women to take charge of their health.

“I would request each of you to be aware and educate yourself on women health and the future risks of certain medical condition. These conditions can be avoided or tackled at the primary stages if you are aware of your family’s medical history. It is also important that you pay attention to you bodies and consult a doctor on a regular basis,” said Dr Shafalika S B, Consultant Gynaecologist & Laparoscopic Surgeon while delivering the talk.

The session was an eye-opener for young girls as they learnt about the major health conditions that women may have to deal with. Reportedly, Columbia Asia Referral Hospital – Yeshwanthpur intends to organise more such events in future to educate girls on health issues and how to tackle it.
