Dr Ajay Bakshi is now CEO-Designate, India Operations Division, ParkwayPantai

Dr Bakshi is a trained neurosurgeon from AIIMS and will assume full responsibilities and designation of Chief Executive from May 1, 2018

Parkway Pantai has appointed Dr Ajay Bakshi as the CEO – Designate for its India Operations Division. There will be a transition period over the month of April for Ramesh Krishnan, Current CEO to hand over to Dr Bakshi. Dr Bakshi will take on the full responsibilities and designation of CEO effective from May 1, 2018 when Krishnan steps down.

Dr Bakshi, a trained neurosurgeon from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, comes with rich experience in the healthcare sector. A former consultant with McKinsey, he has advised large US healthcare and pharmaceutical corporations on their strategy and operations as well as addressed the effectiveness of healthcare systems in the Middle East and African countries. From 2011 to 2014, Dr Ajay Bakshi was with Max Healthcare as their MD & CEO where he led a successful launch of four new hospitals as well as a comprehensive turn-around of the whole hospital network. As the MD & CEO of Manipal Hospitals from 2014 to 2017, he oversaw 16 hospitals covering 7,000 beds in India and Malaysia.

Krishnan says, “Personally it has been a very fulfilling five  years for me at Parkway Pantai in building the franchise across India. Today, India is one of our home markets, alongside Malaysia and Singapore. I am proud to hand over the baton to a highly qualified and passionate professional of Ajay’s calibre. He can steer the India operations through its next phase of growth and consolidation, and continue leading an excellent team which I have had the good fortune to put together.”
