Fujifilm strengthens CT Portfolio with FCT iStream launch at IRIA 2026

Shreyash Gandhi, National Product Manager-CT & MRI, Fujifilm India shares insights into the newly launched CT platform, Fujifilm’s expanding radiology portfolio, the role of AI in shaping future innovation, and the company’s strategic focus on India and other emerging markets

Can you tell us about the product launched at IRIA 2026 under Fujifilm’s CT family?
At IRIA 2026, Hyderabad we are launching the Fujifilm FCT iStream, the newest addition to the Fujifilm CT family. The FCT iStream has been developed around the philosophy of “Less is More”—focusing on compact design, efficiency, and performance.

The system features a sleek, space-efficient footprint with relatively low power consumption, making it well suited for modern imaging environments. Within our CT portfolio, the FCT iStream is positioned as a cardiac CT system. It comes with a 128-slice configuration, which translates to 64 detector rows with 40 mm coverage. Combined with a 6MHU tube, the system is designed to deliver best-in-class performance across a wide range of clinical applications.

What are the key focus areas in Fujifilm’s radiology portfolio today, and how do these address the evolving needs of radiologists and imaging departments?
While CT and MRI remain key growth areas for Fujifilm, our radiology portfolio today extends well beyond cross-sectional imaging. We have a strong presence across multiple modalities, including digital radiography (DR), mammography, ultrasound, as well as PACS and healthcare IT solutions.

This broad portfolio allows us to address the evolving needs of radiologists and imaging departments by offering integrated solutions that improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and support high-quality diagnostic outcomes across the entire imaging ecosystem.

How is Fujifilm prioritising innovation in radiology, and what broad trends or technologies do you see shaping your product development over the next few years?
Innovation is a core priority for Fujifilm, particularly in next-generation technologies that enhance both clinical and operational performance. A key focus area is artificial intelligence (AI).

With systems such as the FCT iStream, AI is embedded directly into the platform to help improve workflow efficiency, enhance diagnostic image quality, and support radiation dose reduction for patients. These capabilities reflect broader trends in radiology, where automation, image optimisation, and patient safety are becoming increasingly important in daily clinical practice.

What are Fujifilm’s key strategic goals for the radiology business over the next 3–5 years — particularly in India and other emerging markets?

Fujifilm’s overarching goal is to become a top partner for customers in the radiology space, across all imaging modalities. We aim to be positioned at the top pedestal in terms of technology, reliability, and clinical value.

In CT and MRI specifically, we have a strong product pipeline and are targeting the launch of a new model every year. This steady cadence of innovation is especially important for markets such as India and other emerging regions, where demand continues to grow for advanced, efficient, and scalable imaging solutions.
