Funding in healthcare, lifesciences hikes to $ 300 m

According to Tracxn, a 430.04 per cent surge in funding was observed when compared with the $56.6 million in January 2024

Funding in the pharma and healthcare space surged 191.26 per cent to $300 million in January 2025 from $103 million in December 2024. This is also a 430.04 per cent surge in funding when compared with the $56.6 million in January last year.

Most of the funding raised by this space in January this year came from private equity rounds ($222.3 million), which accounted for 74.2 per cent of the investments. Late-stage ($30 million) and early-stage ($29.2 million) funding were at similar levels, together accounting for around 20 per cent of the total funding. Seed-stage funding ($18.2 million) contributed to 6.1 per cent of the total funding. 

Neuberg Diagnostics, Aragen, and Foxtale reported the biggest funding rounds in January 2025, raising $110 million, $100 million and $30 million respectively. Fireside Ventures, Unicom India Ventures, and Equanimity Investments were some of the active investors during the period.
