It also included a process for swift referrals and management of congenital heart diseases in the state. Following the dissemination of best practices, the State Government will now scale up the programme and replicate the initiative across the state.

The initiative has crossed several milestones, demonstrating a set of 23 Model Health Centres as part of the project, including the development of patient-centric health centres with child friendly model immunisation rooms, adoption of technology platforms and enhanced capacity of the healthcare workforce. As part of its commitment towards making healthcare accessible for all, the Trusts has also worked together with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital (SSSH) to support early detection and treatment of Children screened for congenital heart disease (CHD).

Addressing the cause, Shri TS Singh Deo, Health Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh said in a video message; “We are committed to guaranteeing adequate medical care for every resident of our state. Through the assistance of Tata Trusts, we have effectively enhanced 23 Model Health Centres with the purpose of fortifying the health systems in Chhattisgarh. This initiative involves training healthcare personnel and raising awareness about improved practices. Our partnership with Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI), an organization by Tata Trusts, is instrumental in realizing our objective of delivering affordable and easily accessible healthcare to our citizens. We are observing encouraging outcomes and are confident that this collaboration will contribute to enhancing the overall well-being of everyone.”

Commenting on the dissemination event of 23 Model Health Centres, Dr Sita Rama Budaraju, Senior Advisor, Health, Tata Trusts, said, “At Tata Trusts, we strive to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable, especially for those in underserved communities. Driven by this ethos, we were honoured to work with the Government of Chhattisgarh these past years – introducing to the state, a network of 23 model facilities, digitisation-first approach, and proactive monitoring for quality control – which made the pilot a success. We are proud to have been a part of this journey and hope that this programme will be successful in transforming healthcare in the state by building capabilities of frontline health workers, leveraging technology to enhance service quality, and promoting fair and accessible healthcare for all.”
