On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, The Himalaya Drug Company along with Rotary Club of Bombay has initiated a campaign, Jagriti, to install sanitary pad dispensers across schools and colleges. The main aim of this campaign is to make sanitary pads accessible to girls at an affordable price of Rs 2.
The Himalaya Drug Company and Rotary Club together have planned to install sanitary pad dispensers in close to 100 higher primary schools and colleges across Mumbai. Himalaya has plans of spreading this initiative to more Indian cities in the near future.
As a part of this initiative, two sanitary pad dispensers were inaugurated at the MK Sanghvi College of Commerce in April. Krushna Gandhi, the Principal, volunteers from Rotary Club, team Himalaya, and the faculty and students from the college were present at the event.
