India’s active cases 22 per cent, recovery rate over 76 per cent

In a testing strategy that steadily widened the testing net in the country, India’s cumulative COVID-19 tests are nearing the four crore mark, with more than one crore samples tested in past two weeks. More than 1 crore samples have been tested for COVID in the past two weeks, as per Ministry of Health & Family Welfare data.

The Tests Per Million is now 28,607, with the testing lab network in the country at 1564 labs in the country; 998 labs in the government sector and 566 private labs. Union health ministry data puts India’s COVID-19 recoveries nearing 26 lakh, with a recovery rate of 76.28 per cent.

The number of recoveries is nearly 3.5 times the active cases, which comprise 21.90 per cent of the total cases. The case fatality rate,  is pegged at 1.82 per cent as of August 28.
