India’s preventive healthcare sector to reach a value of USD $197 billion by 2025: Report

Fitness and wellness, foods and supplements, early diagnostic and health tracking among others are growing at a CAGR of 22 per cent

With the COVID-19 pandemic, preventive healthcare has increased in importance across India with a value of USD $93 billion in 2021, the preventive healthcare sector accounts for approximately 36 per cent of the overall healthcare industry. A report released by Redseer Strategy Consultants in collaboration with Chirate Ventures and Amazon Web Services on 21st July 2022, conducted a survey with over 1000+ individuals revealed.

Start-ups are driving the preventive healthcare sector at scale by leveraging digital technologies like cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) will further augment the availability of data and utilisation of such technologies.

The report also noted that not only start-ups, but diversified corporate and healthcare businesses, are entering the preventive health space by partnering with start-ups or building their own programs and digital platforms.
