La-Med Healthcare ramps up production of vital components of ventilators, other medical equipment

These parts are essential to treat novel coronavirus disease, mainly affecting human respiratory system

La-Med Healthcare has said that for the past three weeks, it has been ramping up production of vital components of ventilators and other medical equipment at its manufacturing plant in Faridabad. These parts are essential to treat the novel coronavirus disease, that mainly affects the human respiratory system.

However, due to the disruption in the logistics and other ancillary services as a result of the 21-day lockdown in the country, a stock of thousands of medical devices including bain circuit, HME filter, Lungciser, ventilator circuits, Ambu bags, surgical gloves as well as twin O2 set, nebuliser and oxygen mask are waiting to be delivered to medical institutions PAN India.

“We are with the nation at this time. We’ve been ramping up production for the required medical devices at our plant in Faridabad for the past three weeks to ensure there is no shortage during this critical time. We’ve readied a stock of thousands of components essential to the medical fraternity at this time but due to disrupted logistics services across the nation, the delivery of the stock has been delayed. However, the Government through its notification released on April 12, had given some relaxation to the transportation services for the essential commodities. We are hopeful that we will be able to send these essentials out to the market as soon as possible. Needless to say, we are following the highest standards of hygiene and safety internally,” said Mayank Lakhani, Managing Director, La Med Healthcare.
