Medikabazaar launches MBARC

Medical equipment service in India is currently done by either OEMs or freelancers, the unorganised equipment service sector suffers from issues like non-reliability, lack of trained personnel and unstructured pricing

Medikabazaar has announced the launch of MBARC, an end-to-end medical equipment service platform, that helps hospitals manage their biomedical assets in an efficient and effective manner. MBARC offers asset management, recycling and equipment care alongside a host of other services like AMC, CMC, preventive maintenance, installation, equipment safety test, audit, calibration and user training covering the three important tenets of equipment lifecycle management.

On the asset management front, the platform provides seamless management of all hospital assets. Using this automated system, hospitals and healthcare providers can monitor, measure, manage and operate all their assets at the click of a button.

Vivek Tiwari, Founder & CEO, Medikabazaar said, “Medical Equipment Lifecycle Management in India is not streamlined. Asset tracking is a manual process which is highly inefficient and managing service requirements for various equipment from multiple brands entails dealing with large number of service providers from OEM side as well as Freelancers. Equipment service in Tier 2,3 and beyond towns is a major issue due to lack of reliable and trained service engineers leading to significant downtime impacting care delivery. MBARC aims to be one stop on-demand service digital platform for any equipment, any time and anywhere which would transform the equipment lifecycle management.”

On the recycling front, the platform offers solutions which include restoration, reconditioning, repairing and replacement of worn-out parts. MB Recycle also doubles up as a platform where hospitals can buy or sell old equipment that are still usable.

On the maintenance side, MB Care functions as a one-stop-shop to book your biomedical services digitally. The services include preventive maintenance, equipment breakdown, AMC, CMC, installations, equipment safety test and audit, calibration and user training, according to Tiwari.

They want their assets to stay operational at all times.  But prohibitive cost and lack of service providers come in the way. The problem is particularly huge in tier 2 and tier 3 cities,” explained Tiwari.

Medical equipment service in India is currently done by either OEMs or freelancers, the unorganised equipment service sector suffers from issues like non-reliability, lack of trained personnel and unstructured pricing.

MBARC App, according to Tiwari is India’s first On Demand Digital Service Platform and is the answer to such issues since it helps hospitals streamline their equipment lifecycle management by giving quick and easy access to a vast network of qualified and certified service engineers.

“In short, our platform prevents revenue loss from downtime, increases equipment life, improves productivity of biomedical staff, ensures higher returns on investment, and above all, it ensures timely and quality care to patients,” he informed.

Medikabazaar’s new initiative also opens great job opportunities for biomedical engineers across India as they can be part of the MBARC service team.

“The market being huge and still unexplored, we see a great growth opportunity. Being an early bird, we have our advantage,” he enthused.
