MedPlus launches online pharmacy service in Delhi NCR

Plans to extend the service to top 50 cities within the next couple of years

MedPlus has launched an e-commerce service ‘Click. Pick & Save’ in Delhi and NCR area. With this launch, the service is available in all the top metro areas of the country except Mumbai. The company also shared an aggressive expansion plan in the national capital region with an investment of Rs 100 crore to ramp up its retail network of stores to over 400 stores in the next couple of years.

Click, Pick. Save’, a first of its kind initiative by MedPlus, is a customer-focused online service that enables the customers to harness the benefits of e-commerce and mobile commerce in healthcare like never before. The consumers can log onto the portal -www.medplusmart.com- or use the MedPlus app to search for over 100,000 medicines and read important facts about their usage, side effects, precautions to be taken and compare among alternative branded and generic medicines. Customers can book their medicines online and pick up the medicines at a medplus store near them after displaying the prescription to the pharmacist or have the medicines delivered home if they upload their prescription online.

First introduced in Hyderabad in March this year, the service is now also available in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bhubaneswar and is growing at an exceptional pace. Orders for medicines during regular business hours are made available to customers within three to four hours in most areas. Customers who have difficulty reading their prescriptions can just upload the prescription to the website, whereupon MedPlus customer care will contact the customer and facilitate the order placement. The customers will receive an SMS when the order is ready for pick-up or for delivery.

Dr Madhukar Gangadi, Founder and CEO, MedPlus Health Services, said, “Delhi and NCR is one of the most vibrant and important market for any business and we are all geared up to explore the opportunity the region offers. We are looking to set up over 400 MedPlus stores across the region over the next couple of years and invest over Rs 100 cr to expand our operations here.”

Speaking about the online pharmacy business in the region, Gangadi said, “MedPlus’s online pharmacy service ‘Click. Pick & Save.’ is the most convenient, reliable and trusted e-commerce service for buying medicines.
