NABH certifies Panacea Hospital’s diagnostic lab

Panacea Diagnostic Laboratory is the third diagnostic centre in Karnataka to be certified by NABH

Panacea Hospital in Bengaluru has received the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) certification for its diagnostic laboratory. With this, Panacea Diagnostic Laboratory, an integral unit of Panacea Hospital, is the third such diagnostic centre in Karnataka to be certified by the NABH.

Commenting on the NABH certification, Dr C Jayanna, Chairman & MD, Panacea Hospitals said, “A certification by NABH for a diagnostic laboratory means top quality service, accuracy in medical tests and error-free results. We aimed for this certification because this places Panacea among the few hospitals to have an in-house diagnostic laboratory, which is certified by the highest authority of the country. We intend to maximise benefits to our privileged patrons through this.”

The laboratory disciplines covered under the certification are clinical biochemistry, pathology, and microbiology. “We are extremely happy to be certified by the NABH, as not many laboratories qualify for it. This certification means highest quality standards. In addition to catering to the requirements of our hospital, we can accept samples from other centres too for tests,” said Dr Vivek Hittinahalli, HOD & Consultant Microbiology, Panacea Diagnostic Laboratory. Dr Hittinahalli is also an NABH and NABL Assessor for QCI, New Delhi.

The NABH certification is an important achievement for Panacea Hospital, as it is embarking on an expansion plan spread across the next five years in Karnataka.
