NURA, a diagnostic venture between Fujifilm Healthcare and Dr Kutty’s Healthcare, has expanded its footprint in South India with the launch of a preventive health screening centre in Chennai. Located in Egmore, the facility marks NURA’s sixth centre in India and reflects the company’s focus on expanding access to preventive healthcare and early disease detection services.
The facility was inaugurated in the presence of senior leadership from Fujifilm, NURA and Dr Kutty’s Healthcare, including Jun Higuchi, Nobuo Matsunobe, Koji Wada and Masaharu Morita.
The Chennai launch marks a milestone in NURA’s India expansion journey. The facility offers AI-enabled full-body health screenings and integrates imaging and diagnostic technologies to support detection of diseases at early stages. The centre has the capacity to screen up to 40 guests per day.
Commenting on the development, Masaharu Morita, Founder and Programme Director, NURA, said: “India continues to be a key country in NURA’s global expansion journey, and Chennai marks an important step in strengthening our South India presence. With growing awareness around lifestyle diseases and preventive healthcare, there is a rising need for advanced screening infrastructure. Through our AI-driven screening ecosystem and Fujifilm’s healthcare innovations, we aim to deliver efficient and accessible preventive healthcare services.”
Following the Chennai launch, NURA stated that it will continue its expansion roadmap across Tier 1, Tier 2, and emerging urban areas in India. Internationally, the company is also exploring opportunities across the Middle East and Africa, South Asia, and ASEAN as part of its plans to establish a preventive healthcare network.
