Unveils statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
A statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai patel was unveiled today on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas at the Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute by Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi. This was followed by the DU “Run for Unity” by participants from NCC, NSS, EOC, NCWEB, foreign students, teachers, staff including others at VPCI campus.
Prof Rajendra Prasad, Director VPCI in his welcome address spoke briefly on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution during the freedom struggle and his efforts to integrate the princely states into the Indian dominian.Prof Dinesh Singh, administered the “Rashtriya Ekta Divas” pledge to the assembled audience and spoke about the sacrifices made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during his lifetime and his sincere concern in mantaining the peace and prosperity of the newly independent India.
He also added that students should follow the principles and footsteps of Saradr Vallabhbhai Patel. They should give due importance on the pledge taken on this occasion and work together to mantain our nation’s unity and development.students from St.Stephens performed a skit and there were dance performances by international students as well as north East students. The program ended with National anthem.
