PM lays foundation stone of AIIMS in Himachal Pradesh

The institution will be built at an approx. cost of Rs 1350 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. The upcoming AIIMS will have 750 beds and a medical college, a nursing college besides other allied services which will be built at an approx. cost of Rs 1350 crore.

Acharya Devvrat, Governor, Himachal Pradesh; JP Nadda, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare; Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh; CK Mishra, Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India along with other dignitaries were present during the occasion. Gyanesh Pandey, CMD, HSCC briefed the Prime Minister about the proposed project.

The establishment of new AIIMS at Bilaspur under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana(PMSSY) aims to provide affordable and reliable tertiary level healthcare in Himachal Pradesh and adjoining states and will augment facilities for quality medical education both at UG & PG level.

The institution will include emergency /trauma beds, AYUSH beds, and private beds along with ICU, 15 OT’s & super speciality beds. In addition there will be administrative and AYUSH blocks, auditorium, night shelter, hostels and residential facilities along with allied services.
