S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mahim, Mumbai – A Fortis Associate has launched its Department of Women & Child Care, bringing together services for women’s health and child healthcare in the presence of trustees Neel Raheja and Akshay Raheja, along with Dr S. Narayani, Regional Director Operations – Fortis Hospitals, Dr Kunal Punamiya, CEO, S.L. Raheja Hospital, Lt Gen (Dr) V Ravishankar (VSM-Retd.)-Medical Advisor-Board of Trustees, S.L. Raheja Hospital.
The Department provides obstetric services including antenatal check-ups, high-risk pregnancy management, labour, delivery and postpartum care. Gynaecology services cover menstrual disorders, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis and other reproductive health concerns, along with cancer screening, adolescent gynaecology and menopause care. Surgical services include laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for cases where minimally invasive treatment is clinically appropriate.
For children, the department includes paediatrics and neonatology services. Pediatricians and neonatologists provide care for newborns, infants and children, including management of critical and high-risk cases through the hospital’s NICU. Services also include routine immunisation, growth monitoring and management of paediatric conditions.
The department brings together a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including Dr Swity Kora, Dr Vandana Shetty, Dr Manasi Medhekar, Dr Sangeeta Pickle, Dr Alka Kumar, Dr Reshma Hussain and Dr Vikram Shah amongst others from Obstetrics and Gynaecology, alongside Dr Asmita Mahajan, Dr Deepak Ugra, Dr Rajesh Chokhani and Dr Ganesh Lahane from Neonatology & Paediatrics. The teams will provide care across obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology and paediatrics, with support from specialists in other clinical disciplines at the hospital.

The department will cater to women and children through services including preventive screening, pregnancy and postpartum care, reproductive health, minimally invasive procedures, newborn care, immunisation, growth monitoring and management of paediatric conditions.
