In an effort to elevate healthcare in India, Siemens Healthineers has begun local manufacturing of Atellica chemistry reagents at its Vadodara facility, a milestone for the Make in India initiative that will benefit patients and healthcare professionals across the country.
These chemistry reagents are used in routine blood tests that detect conditions such as infections, diabetes, and organ function abnormalities. Local production aims to strengthen better access to quality care for patients and supports early detection and preventive care, enabling clinicians to monitor risk factors in time.
“Bringing the expertise and legacy of over 50 years, our Vadodara facility will play a pivotal role in producing diagnostic solutions tailored to the needs of Indian laboratories and healthcare providers. This move also aligns with national priorities to boost domestic manufacturing in critical healthcare segments, advancing preventive healthcare and contributing to India’s vision of self-reliance in healthcare technologies,” said Hariharan Subramanian, Managing Director, Siemens Healthcare.
The Atellica Solution is widely recognized for its innovation, sustainability and efficiency in laboratory diagnostics, and the availability of locally manufactured reagents will further strengthen its value for healthcare providers and patients in India.
