Fortis Hospital’s Mumbai launch telehealth services

As the country continues to battle the unprecedented challenges of the public health crisis, leading to imposition of nationwide lockdown, scores of patients are unable to avail medical help. In an endeavour to ensure that Mumbaikar’s receive accurate and timely medical aid, Fortis Hospitals Mumbai launched a telehealth initiative recently. The initiative is also aimed at promoting ‘Social Distancing’ and preventing crowding at the hospital. Patients and their attendant can seek appoints by logging-in on https://bit.ly/2JkLVKw or by calling 022 43654365 (for Fortis Hospital, Mulund), +9177385 06812 (for Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi) and +91 88821 01101 (for Fortis Hospital, Kalyan).

Through this initiative, a consultation with the specialist of your choice will be hosted over a video call. To begin with, Fortis Hospitals Mumbai has started this service of few specialties and will gradually expand the offerings. Once the patient and / or their attendant registers for a tele-consult, they will receive a link their email address – this gives access to video consultation with the doctor at the affixed time.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr S Narayani, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital, Mulund, said, “While Social Distancing is the need of the hour, and a nation-wide lockdown has been imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19, one cannot forget that the healthcare needs of the community also need to be met. An optimal way of curbing transmission, beyond Social Distancing, is to make telemedicine available to all patients. With this initiative, we will continue to meet the healthcare needs of the community without taking our eye off the COVID-19 battle.”
